Experimental violin performance and songs threaded with surreal naivety.
Mira Benjamin is a Canadian violinist specialising in 20th and 21st century experimental music, with research exploring embodiment in performance. A member of London-based ensembles Apartment House and Plus Minus, she has given world premieres of over 250 works and built a discography of more than 50 titles with Another Timbre. She received the Canada Council's Virginia Parker Prize in 2016.
Francesca Fargion is a composer-performer currently undertaking a PhD at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Trained in piano at the Guildhall, her work draws on song-writing, surreal naivety, and humour. She has performed at Cafe OTO, Kaaitheater, LCMF, and Impulstanz, works with Apartment House and Plus Minus, and writes for her sibling duo The Fargions, who curate the London series Good Company.
