Somewhere Press matinee show at the low-lit Apollo Bar. With live sets from Lithuanian jazz folk singer Ugnė Uma and NEY's Matt Robin.
We’re delighted to welcome Ugnė Uma back to Glasgow for a special Sunday matinee show at the low-lit Apollo Bar in The Flying Duck.
Uma blew us away last February, The Skinny described her enchanting set as ‘a kind of slow-motion blur with an uncanny magnetism like little else’. Now, off the back of her smouldering label debut ‘Rage Love Strange Love’, we’re beyond excited for the follow-up.
Uma will be joined by Somewhere Press frequent collaborator and NEY band member Matt Robin. His practice, both solo and collaborative, centers on exploring complexity through minimal means, using restraint to reveal sonic detail. He recently performed alongside Felicia Atkinson for Radiophrenia.
Somewhere Press will open the show with a DJ set.
The event will run from 5-8pm, and will be followed by another wonderful live act in The Flying Duck (tba). This will be a very limited capacity seated gig so we recommend booking early.
Tickets are sliding scale - solidarity tickets help to make the cheaper tickets possible for those on lower income so please support if you can.
All door takings will go to the 2 live acts.
Hope to see you there.
It’s a movie scene, it’s real life 🍸
