Edinburgh-based pianist and composer from Tokyo, Japan joins us to share her music and some of her favourite pieces for this wonderful Friday afternoon.

About the Artist:
Ryoka Hagiwara is an Edinburgh-based pianist and composer from Tokyo, Japan. Through pieces that have been compared to artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and Joe Hisaishi and performances that have been described as “exquisite, purposeful, with precision and care” (No Transmission), her music is known for a “masterful use of tonal variety and tactful spaciousness” (Obscure Sound), connecting with audiences with a sensitive and intimate sound. She recently released her debut solo piano album, ICHI. Tracks from ICHI have been featured on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Sounds.

Pianodrome Bruntsfield is at The St.Oswald's Center at 41 Montpelier Park, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh EH10 4NB, just parallel to the main street and next to the primary school. We do not check your right to a concession or name your price ticket. If you feel you can afford the full price please select this ticket. However, concessions prices are there to help anybody attend the show - if you need a lower cost ticket you are in the best position to determine that. No questions asked.
