Step into the Astronodrome for a trip through the Cosmos as we explore the life cycle of stars with captivating piano performance by visiting pianist Kevin Taduy and Astronomy by Pianodrome’s Shona MacArthur.
About the event
Embark on an immersive journey of discovery for Pianodrome Bruntsfield’s first Astronodrome. Space and Piano are brought together by a duo of friends bridging the French Alps and Scotland - Shona will share her passion for understanding the Universe through visuals and short talks, while Kevin blends his many influences to curate a captivating soundtrack of space-inspired, spellbinding piano playing.
About the artist
Kevin is a multi-faceted pianist - also a piano tuner and creative maker, his passion lies in exploring the piano’s possibilities through improvisation, alongside studying classical repertoire. From energetic to minimalist, powerful to intimate, his love of harmonies and contrast shines through his wonderful playing. His double album Fables & Fractales was released in 2022, bringing together over 10 years of compositions.
Now one of Pianodrome’s Co-Directors, Shona previously worked in an Astronomy museum on a mountaintop in the Alps, under one of Europe’s clearest night skies. She has a passion for observing and understanding the Universe which comes most alive when sharing that joy with others. Bringing Astronomy talks to the Pianodrome, she has hosted a few small-scale events at our Granton warehouse as well as outdoor observations in the city’s parks.
