go went gong will perform at Pianodrome as an expanded ensemble with live visuals, presenting extended material from the forthcoming album All Things Ecstatic.
About the artists:
Giorgos Bouras (go went gong) uses his own homemade stringed instruments, clarinet, unsynchronised loops, and lo-tech gadgetry to create kaleidoscopic digitally enhanced modal improvisations. The sound of go went gong feels both intense and soothing, like being swaddled in a warm blanket of sound.
For their Pianodrome concert, go went gong will expand from a one-man project into a full group, presenting extended versions of Giorgos’ most recent music from the forthcoming album All Things Ecstatic. Live visuals will be provided by artist Colm Clarke. A number of DIY instruments will be used, many built with parts from old pianos donated by Pianodrome, making the concert feel like a sort of return to the source.
BELL LUNGS is the moniker of Scottish-Turkish vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and creative facilitator Ceylan Hay. Taking a freewheeling, magpie attitude to ambient, noise, free improvisation, psychedelia, jazz, post-rock, minimalism and folk, her music creates subtly shifting sound worlds drawing on natural cycles, environmental disaster and the microcosmic aspects of relationships. A vaguely obsessive instrument collector, she integrates vocals, strings, keys, tuned percussion and woodwinds into lushly textured layers and loops.
