Esther Swift - Moon Dreams EP Launch

Esther Swift returns to Pianodrome to celebrate the launch of her new EP "Moon Dreams" with support from Aurora Engine and The Reverse Engineer.

7:00pm ‐ 9:30pm
Pianodrome - St. Oswalds
St. Oswald's, 41 Montpellier Park, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, EH10 4NB

Information

Esther Swift returns to Pianodrome in our brand new location at St. Oswalds Church in Bruntsfield to celebrate the launch of her new EP "Moon Dreams", with support from Aurora Engine and The Reverse Engineer.

Esther Swift’s new EP Moon Dreams highlights her captivating solo performance with harp and voice in its first three tracks, followed by remixes from her acclaimed album Expectations of a Lifetime, forming a striking contrast in the EP’s second half.

Esther will also be running a workshop from 2pm-4pm - discounted tickets are available for this show to those attending the workshop.

The opening track, Hope, is a heartfelt call for love and connection. The title track, Moon Dreams, evokes the romance of nature’s cycles—its pushes and pulls. The third track is a reimagining of Dream Angus, a traditional Scottish lullaby that reflects both the beauty and hardship of rural life in Scotland.

Esther’s performance is at once virtuosic and tender, dramatic and meditative—summoning the old and the new through both familiar and unexpected harmonic shifts, melodies rooted in tradition yet boldly innovative, and vocals that soar with emotional intensity.

“Celestial.” — Shamira Ahmed, Front Row

“Björk-esque” ★★★★★ - Edinburgh Reporter

"Esther Swift is a monster musician. Be Very afraid” - Chris Wood.

The Reverse Engineer is the musician, sound artist and designer Dave House who creates polyrhythmic soundscapes using synthesizers, field recordings and algorithms.

Aurora Engine is a harpist, pianist and electronic musician/songwriter. Haunting vocals cut through dark, cinematic folktronica with raw intensity. Performing solo she builds an intricate, self-made sound world, pulling sounds from inside pianos, layering field recordings of nature and industry, and twisting human voices into luscious sonic landscapes.

After the show, you are invited to join Esther for an EP launch afterparty (location to be announced) with music from Canton - a new collaboration between Tom Swift and Nick Jenkins who will end the night with their irresistible music inspired by the rhythms of nature, blurring the lines between fiddle and synth.
