A double-header that'll get you looking inward and dancing outward to end this year's Sonorities Festival. Unmissable.
WHATEVER THE WEATHER
Join visionary electronic music producer Loraine James for a special live presentation of her ambient-leaning alias Whatever The Weather.
Experience a rare live performance from one of electronic music's most inventive voices. Known for her boundary-pushing releases on Hyperdub, James reserves her alias, Whatever The Weather, for a more impressionistic, inward gaze, using sound to trace emotional temperature and texture.
Her latest album, Whatever The Weather II, moves through hypnotic ambience, collage-like soundscapes and diaristic field recordings. James seamlessly crafts immersive soundscapes that invite you to pause, reflect and experience music that feels both expansive and intimate. The result is a uniquely textured and heartfelt sonic palette, merging analogue and digital methods into something entirely her own.
STRATFORD RISE
Stratford Rise are at the forefront of the new wave of Irish noise rock bands. They combine melodic passages with technical, rhythmic noise, with influences from New Wave to No Wave. They have played a session for Deb Grant as part of 6Music's New Music Fix as well as festival slots in Bold Frontiers and Electric Picnic. They recently headlined The George Tavern in London and The Louisiana in Bristol, bringing their exciting and visceral sound over to England. Their self titled E.P. was recently last year to critical praise and online buzz. Stratford Rise continue to hone new material during their theatrical and intense live shows across Ireland and the United Kingdom.
