Sketch and Wander: joys of the Pedlars Way

Restore, recharge and nurture your curiosity on this creative walk. There will be playful, creative invitations for your sketchbook/journal along with mindful mark-making, as Lynn shares tips and techniques to help fill the pages as we celebrate our co-existence with nature. Artistic ability is not required.

Arriving at Gifford we’ll have a break, with the option of fine wares from lovely Lantern Rouge cafe before heading back into the woods towards Bolton.

Bring something to drink, a sketchbook or journal and an open heart.

There are paths on this route and you must be comfortable to walk on uneven surfaces. Distance from Bolton to Gifford is 4km. We’ll walk at an easy pace so we can notice, record and enjoy.

Suitable for ages 13+ with children under 16 accompanied by an adult.

Dress for the Scottish weather and wear walking boots if it’s been rainy as it can get muddy.

Alas, we cannot accomodate dogs on this creative venture.

There is a cafe and shop stop at Gifford during the walk.

What to bring
Pack a waterproof in case it rains, sunscreen if hot, plus water. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes or boots, suitable for the terrain.

You have the option of bringing a packed lunch or purchasing food at local cafe/shop on our stop in Gifford.

Getting there
We are meeting at Bolton church. East Coast bus 123 connects Haddington, Pencaitland and Bolton (circular route). If driving, limited parking is available outside the village hall a few minutes walk from the church. What3Words: ///inch.appear.scrap
