A guided walk around the hidden history in the town centre and by the river
Explore some of lesser-known sights of Haddington town centre on a walk with knowledgeable local guide John Hamilton. Discover the town’s history written in the buildings and features that often go unnoticed and learn more about the people who lived and worked here in times gone by.
John’s walk will take approximately 90 mins, with lots of stops to discuss and discover more about Hidden Haddington!

The route will take in part of the town centre and riverside from Victoria Bridge to Mill Wynd.
With a mixture of pavement and shale/compacted river path, the route is mainly firm underfoot. If it rains, the paths can get muddy so walking shoes with good grips are recommended.
Well-behaved and on the lead dogs are welcome.
No age restrictions.
Public toilet facilities are available in Neilson Park Road, close to the start/end of the walk.
There are many cafes to choose from in Haddington if you wish to do so at the end of the walk.

Please wear suitable shoes and dress for the variable Scottish weather!
With an approx 90 min walk, you might like to bring along something to drink, especially if the weather is hot.
Getting there
