9:00am ‐ 12:00pm
Aberlady Nature Reserve
A198, Aberlady, EH32 0QB

Information

August will see many bird species on the move, passing through Scotland or arriving to spend the autumn and winter months. On the walk we will be looking out for a range of species including wading birds, wildfowl and smaller birds present in and around Aberlady Bay and the surrounding area.

The walk will be around 5 miles in length, on good but occasionally uneven footpaths and at a gentle slow pace, with plenty of opportunities to stop and observe the birdlife.

More information
Bring your own binoculars if you have a pair but there will be binoculars available to borrow on the day.

Good footpaths but occasionally uneven and rough. Boots are recommended.

No dogs please.

Walk suitable for ages 12 – 99.

Toilets are available at the meeting point.

There are no cafe facilities available on this walk.

What to bring
Bring binoculars if you have them – binoculars will be available to borrow.

Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. You may also wish to bring water and a snack.

Getting there
The meeting point is in the small car park at Aberlady Bay nature reserve just off the A198, approximately 1 km east of Aberlady village. East Coast bus services 124 and X5 stop at the car park.
